Chief Supt Glenn Dumlao, chief of the Anti-Kidnapping Group, said one of the four policemen who were involved in the kidnapping-for-ransom and now missing was identified as P01 Michael Omiping Siervo.

Siervo, an AWOL policeman, was identified by the victim, Bonifacia Pascual Arcita, as the lawman who held and kept her at a safe house owned by the former and his wife Margie Celin-Siervo at Purok 4, Barangay Trance, Bay, Laguna after the kidnapping on July 29 at about 2 am.

Dumlao said Arcita identified Siervo as the leader of the group that kidnapped her when a picture of the suspect was shown to her.

“The AKG is now continuously conducting follow-up investigation for the possible identification of other suspects and their arrest,” Dumlao said.

In the aftermath of the rescue of Arcita, AKG operatives recovered a PNP General Office Attire uniform with badge number 210122 under the name of Siervo; an old PNP athletic uniform and Ronin kit.

Also recovered were a hand grenade; one MP4 Bushmaster with M203 grenade launcher, 3 pieces M203 live bullets; a Glock 17 Gen 4 pistol; one Grease Gun cal. 9mm; one cal. 45 Remington; one cal .22 Paltik, a handcuff, one bandolier and pertinent documents.

Dumlao said criminal charges were being prepared by his office against Siervo and his unidentified cohorts.

Dumlao said aside from the rescue of Arcita, AKG operatives also snatched back kidnap victims: one-year old Chinese national, Youan Zhu, Denzhel Gomez and one Joseph Estrada, in separate operations last weekend.

The rescue of Youan Zhu resulted in the arrest of Chinese national Jinjin Zhu, father of the victim; Hao Shi and Jinjie Yuan, who were intercepted in Ilagan, Isabela.

Dunlao said victim Zhu disappeared three days after her father Jinjin and wife Ling-I, a Taiwanese national, arrived in the country on July 28 and subsequently checked in the Red Planet Hotel in Manila.

But two days later, the wife left for Saudi Arabia to process their child’s birth certificate, leaving behind her husband and their daughter in the said hotel.
