Eights drug suspects were killed while 38 others, including four minors, were arrested in Bulacan on Wednesday as the government pressed its relentless anti-illegal drugs war in the province.
Sr. Supt. Chito Bersaluna, acting Bulacan Police Provincial director, said the drug suspects were killed in separate simultaneous anti-criminality and law-enforcement operations in the 12 towns of Bulacan.
The slain suspects were identified only thru their nicknames – “Gorio,” “Lino,” “Allen,” “Ali,” “Bakal,” “Larry,” “Lito Onse” and one still unidentified man who was armed, Bersaluna said.
The killings were part of 18 buy-bust operations, four serviced warrants and two checkpoints for index crimes that Bulacan authorities, including the provincial police drug enforcement unit and provincial mobile force, had initiated relating to the anti-illegal drugs campaign.
Bersaluna said the operations also led to the arrest of 38 drug personalities in Bustos, Bocaue, Calumpit, Norzagaray, Malolos, Marilao, Meycauayan, Hagonoy, Paombong, Angat, Plaridel, and San Rafael. Francisco Tuyay
Scores of drug suspects have already been killed in Bulacan while over 100 drug personalities were arrested in police operations in the province, with 13 deaths in April and 10 in February.
Bersaluna said the operations also yielded 62 pieces of plastic sachets containing suspected shabu; four sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves; nine firearms, ammunition, and marked money.
The confiscated items were brought to the Bulacan crime laboratory for laboratory tests, while appropriate criminal charges are being prepared against the suspects.
“The Bulacan Police is continuously and relentlessly implementing its intensified campaign against illegal drugs otherwise known as ‘Project Double Barrel Reloaded’ and all other forms of criminality as directed by the Chief PNP and the Regional Director of PNP Region 3, Chief Supt. Amador Corpus,” said Bersaluna.
