GENERAL TRIAS CITY—Thirty-three village chiefs here were officially proclaimed by the Board of Election Canvassers and the Commission on Elections early Tuesday morning, city election officer lawyer Armando Vencilao said.
Ten candidates for barangay captain ran unopposed: Alfred Ching of Dulong Bayan, Allan Pedraza of San Gabriel, Allain Barbuco of Bagumbayan, Robert Clamor of Governor Ferrer (Real), Rizalito Potante of Buenavista I, Jacinto Grepo of Buenavista III, Jay Columna of Pasong Camachile, Rolando ‘Batman’ Pagkaliwangan of Santiago, Ricky Deseo of Tapia and Joel Prudente of Barangay Pinagtipunan.
Meanwhile, reelectionists Edwin Rodriguez of Bacao 2, Ireneo Hatid of Biclatan, , Danilo Potante of Buenavista II, Danny Batitis of Corregidor, Ramil Barrientos of Manggahan, Raul dela Cruz of Barangay Navarro, Jesito Fauni of Pasong Camachile II, Francisco Tapawan of Brgy. Pasong Kawayan 1, Brevard Samonte of Sampalukan, Eddie Umali of Brgy San Francisco, Jaime Clamosa of San Juan 1, Sammy Camposibo of San Juan Dos, Rodolfo Cruz of Tejero, Jody Niviar of Barangay Vibora, and Lucita Agdon of Javalera gained new mandates.
New village chiefs included Jose Salazar of Panungyanan, Ernesto Parin of Bacao 1, Dindo Lujero of Prinza, Wally Satsatin of Sta. Clara, Mariano Grepo of Arnaldo, Francisca Alcantara of Pasong Kawayan Dos, Crisante Bartolome of 96 and Efren Dinglasan of Alingaro.
Superintendent Paul Bometivo, acting Chief of Police here, assessed the local elections as generally peaceful.
Mayor Antonio “Ony” Ferrer, Cavite 6th District Rep. Luis ‘Jon Jon’ Ferrer IV, and city councilors congratulated all the winners of the elections. The village chiefs will take their oath of office on July 1.
