OLONGAPO CITY—Junior Chamber International (JCI) Olongapo, in partnership with Redondo Peninsula Inc. (RP Energy), has awarded eight outstanding student leaders in this city with the Youth Leadership Excellence Award (YLEA).
The awardees were Rizianamen Wendria B. Agbanglo, Gordon Heights I Elementary School; Allyana R. Abella, Tabacuhan Elementary School; Jessy Jewel C. Manuel, Special Education Center for Excellence Junior High School; Paulene Miriel L. Viacrusis, Regional Science High School; and Irish Yvonne D. Gamban, Gordon Height National High School.
The other awardees were Jireh Van Kryzler P. Maravilla, Gordon Height National High School; Jaerza Dei D. Muñoz, James L. Gordon Integrated School Senior High School; and Joe Anthony H. Manzano, Regional Science High School.
YLEA or “Batang Lider Award” is an annual flagship national project of JCI Philippines.
“YLEA truly serves an inspiration to the youth as what I see in the smiles of the awardees and their proud parents,” said JCI Senator Steve Paulo F. Mayo, Project Chairperson during the recent ceremony held at Rizal Triangle, this city.
City Mayor Rolen Paulino, also a JCI senator, led the ceremony.
The project was also in partnership with the city government and DepEd Olongapo.
YLEA serves as the medium by which JCI Philippines honors outstanding students around the country and recognizes their toils for academic and co-curricular activities.
