NOVELETA, Cavite—Beach water here, particularly in Long Beach, has passed the Fecal Coliform Test based on the findings of the commissioned water testing company, Mayor Dino Reyes Chua said.
The water testing company assessed local beach Villamar Beach with 27 parts coliform, while Long Beach has 25 parts coliform, passing the normal 100 milligrams per liter rate.
This is the result of a yearlong rehabilitation program created by local government for a massive clean-up drive in the area, Chua said.
Beach goers here are now safe to enjoy the beauty of Noveleta beach, one of the flagship projects of the mayor.
Noveleta Beach tested high in coliform in years 2016 and 2017, with 1,329 parts fecal coliform or 100 milligrams per liter in Lido Beach area, and 881.9 parts fecal coliform in Villamar Beach.
Chua encouraged the public to cooperate to upgrade the quality of the local beach and continuously clean the beach.
The mayor also put up a swimming pool and other facilities, like inflatable island and other amenities, to help revive the old Long Beach resort of Noveleta.
