The screening for the most creative digital ads on YouTube culminates with a winning lot of four crystals, six second prizes and 20 third prizes. To be awarded on the night of YouTube Ads Awards on May 10, the titles point to the outstanding work emerging on the platform and the ingenious ways Filipino brands and creatives are reaching out to the online audience.
Launched in November 2017, the YouTube Ads Awards honors video advertising that broadens the spectrum of branded content in their narratives, storytelling format, and business impact. Entrants had over 17 categories to choose from, including industry-specific titles. From there, a panel of six industry leaders weighed on the submissions.
Among the marketers and storytellers that sat on the judges’ panel are President and Chief Creative Officer of MullenLowe Philippines Leigh Reyes, Co-Chair of Digital Measurement Board of the Philippines and Unilever Philippines Head Dennis Perez, Cebu Pacific Air Vice President for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog, McCann Worldgroup Philippines Executive Creative Director Joe Dy, television host and three-time recipient of the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Literature Lourd de Veyra, and one of Philippines’ top YouTube creators, Mikey Bustos.
Entries that received the highest votes from the judges will receive the first round of Crystal Awards. Other notable digital works will also be recognized with second and third prizes. YouTube is also set to name an “Ad of the Year” that is deemed the best among the year’s awardees.
Judge chair Leigh Reyes says, “advertisers need to place a premium on creativity and authenticity, to be given a place in consumers’ online environments and not be automatically blocked. That is why digital advertising is increasingly experiential, personal, and unexpected.“
Watch out for the roll of winning videos from the first YouTube Ads Awards. The full list of winners will be revealed on May 10.
