Manila to host CSR summit June 1

Enterprise Asia, Asia’s leading non-governmental organization for responsible entrepreneurship, has announced that its annual International CSR Summit will be held in Manila, Philippines on June 1. 

Held for the fourth time, ICS 2018 will take place at The Manila Marriott Hotel, bringing together 300 CSR thought leaders and practitioners from across Asia to catalyze inclusive growth and define change.

Themed “Building A Shared Future,” the ICS 2018 emphasizes on business organizations to lead “Transformational Change” to combat urgent issues threatening people and the planet to reach a “Shared Future.” 

As small sustainable impacts are no longer enough, the summit will prepare businesses to deliver real impact and solutions to meet Sustainable Development Goals, identify the areas and impacts of the business that needs transformational change.

The summit will feature a full suite of CSR experts and practitioners who spearheaded some of the remarkable CSR initiatives in the region. 

The line-up of speakers includes Rep. Gwendolyn Garcia, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives; Dr. Eugene Chien, former Minister of Environment and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan, Republic of China; Cheryl Maley, President and Managing Director of Novartis Philippines;

Laetitia Lienart, Vice President of Corporate Citizenship APAC of Credit Suisse; Dr. Niven Huang, Regional Leader of KPMG Sustainability Services Asia Pacific; Maricel Aguilar from UN WOMEN Philippines and H.E. Leo M. Herrera-Lim, Chairman, ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights.

In conjunction with the ICS 2018, the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2018, Asia’s most prestigious and largest recognition program, will also be held at a Gala Dinner at Manila Marriott Hotel. 

For the past 10 years, the AREA has been recognizing and honoring the top and sustainable CSR initiatives across Asia. All the award recipients have designed and executed effective CSR programmes embedding sustainability into their core initiatives.

Over 200 nominations have come in from 23 countries and markets across Asia, including Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, UAE, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. 

The AREA 2018 recognizes leading CSR practices in the following categories – Social Empowerment, Investment in People, Health Promotion, Green Leadership, Corporate Governance, SME CSR and Responsible Business Leadership.
