RICCI Rivero, one of La Salle’s star players, has left the team.
Rivero made his decision known on Twitter, saying he is not expected to join the squad in the coming 81st University Athletic Association of the Philippines basketball tournament.
He is also not expected to transfer to another school, according to his father Paolo.
Rivera was taken out of the Green Archers’ roster after he reportedly got into a conflict for breaking a team rule prohibiting commercial endorsement deals.
Early this year, his father said that Ricci never had plans of leaving the school as he will concentrate on his studies.
“All good things come to an end. Thank You to the La Sallian community for the support you’ve given me. The Animo spirit will always be with me. Its now time to move forward,” said the young Rivero on Twitter.
Rivero was among the top players who helped La Salle reach the Finals of UAAP Season 80. His hard work earned him the Mythical Team honors.
Rivero averaged 14.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.7 steals for the Archers.
