THE relatives of four people who died after receiving Dengvaxia vaccine shots were set to file criminal charges against former and incumbent officials of the Health Department on Wednesday, an official said.
“Today [Wednesday], four families will be filing four criminal cases,” Persida Rueda Acosta, head of the Public Attorney’s Office, told dzMM radio.
“We will name names in our cases.”
Acosta said pathologists had already completed the histo-pathological examinations on the cells of the four victims.
“PAO will continue to perform its job as mandated by President Rodrigo Duterte and Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II” despite Health Secretary Francisco Duque’s administrative order that only the Health Department could conduct an autopsy on Dengvaxia-related deaths, Acosta said.
“Next week there will be other cases to be filed. Rest assured we will help ferret out the truth,” she said.
