Hyundai Asia Resources Inc., the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, reported a slight drop in sales in February to 2,649 units from 2,653 units year-on-year.
HARI president and chief executive Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo said the company remained optimistic that consumer demand for vehicles would continue sustain sales in 2018.
“February gives us a consistent start in 2018. This only shows the trust and commitment our customers have to our high-quality, best-in-class, and customer-focused products and services,” she said.
Hyundai sales un the first two months of 2018 hit 5,552, up 1.5 percent from 5,470 units on year.
The passenger car segment remains the main driver of sales, accounting for 4,002 units or almost 75 percent of the total units sold.
Hyundai Accent accounted for 2,363 units during the period. Sales of the Eon and Elantra units rose 1.8 percent and 88 percent, respectively. Othel V. Campos
