Symposium tackles father-daughter relationship

An upcoming symposium tackles the effects of father’s active parental involvement in boosting his children’s academic, emotional, and social stability.

The Women’s Business Council of the Philippines, an advocacy group for women economic development, stages “Fathers for Daughters: Building Next-Gen Business Mindsets” on March 22 at Fairmont Makati.

The event, which aims to inspire Filipino families and reiterate the importance of a father’s guidance in raising his children, will be this year’s episode of Women Mentoring Women (W2W) Talks. The talk series is organized by WBCP as part of its advocacy to help women in business and economic development.

Bert Lina and daughters Sheila and Donna will talk about the role of father as a mentor

Renowned and successful women in the country will come together with their respective fathers as guest speakers.

Rachel Kong with her dad Francis Kong, Tricia Gosingtian with Josiah Go, and sisters Sheila and Donna Lina with Bert Lina, will share personal experiences on how their fathers’ influences and participation in their lives have instilled entrepreneurial skills and business mindsets to them.

The first part of the program will discuss the role of the father as a coach, which will be taken up by Rachel Kong, the chief executive officer of Success Options Inc., a publishing, training, and development provider. She will be joined by her father, Francis Kong, who is one of the most respected business speakers in the country, and is known in the field of manufacturing and retail.
