Estrada donates to Mayon evacuees

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada donated P1 million to Mayon evacuees who are currently sheltered in  an evacuation center in Daraga, Albay, as part of the city of Manila’s commitment to give assistance to hundreds of Filipinos affected by natural disaster.

The financial assistance was handed to Albay Mayor Gerry Jaucian by former senator Jinggoy Estrada, son of Manila Mayor Estrada.

The younger Estrada said that his father sent him to Albay to bring hope and inspiration  and to  never forget God on their way to recovery from the volcano eruptions.

“We are all hoping that we can survive and all of you can rise again,” the former senator said, citing the example of his father who also experienced trials but was able to recover.

He said Bicolanos will again recover and regain its beauty and become Thea tourist destination.

Estrada, an official of Anak ng Masa political party headed by his father handed the P1-million check to Jaucian.

Pagpasensiyahan na po nyo ang kaunting nakayanan na maibigay ni Manila Mayor Erap Estrada. I congratulate Mayor Gerry and all municipal government officials for their readiness and preparedness during Mayon’s eruption,” Jinggoy said.

For this, Jaucian thanked Jinggoy and Estrada for the show of concern to his constituents.   

After visiting Anislag evacuation site Estrada also distribute relief goods to some 348 families sheltered at the Cabangan Elementary School, Legazpi City.
