An alleged member of the New People’s Army arrested in Rizal last Thursday was charged before the Department of Justice on Friday.
Marklen Maojo Maga, organizer of militant group Kilusang Mayo Uno and son-in-law of National Democratic Front consultant Rafael Baylosis, was brought to the DoJ for inquest proceedings on charges of illegal possession of firearms.
Assisted by public lawyer, Maga opted not to answer the complaint of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or Comprehensive Law On Firearms and Ammunition.
The investigating prosecutor then submitted the case for resolution.
Maga was reportedly arrested by policemen in civilian clothing at a basketball court near their house in San Mateo town last Thursday morning.
