Lumads and militant groups held a protest today in front of the Supreme Court (SC) in Padre Faura, Manila.
They are condemning the decision of the high tribunal that upheld the constitutionality of the extension of martial law in Mindanao for one year.
They brought placards and streamers to criticize the ruling.
They said the justices are not aware of the sentiments of indigenous people like them under a martial rule.
The Lumads are a group of non-Muslim indigenous people in the southern Philippines.
'Lumad' is a Cebuano term for native.
On February 6, the SC dismissed the petitions against the martial law extension.
Voting 10-5 in an en banc session, the justices said they have no power to review an act of Congress.
The SC also believes serious security threats still exist in Mindanao.
