Benilde stages 13th Lasalian Arts Month

The 13th Lasallian Arts Month features shows held in and out of Benilde's premises 

Artworks take to the street in this year’s celebration of the Lasallian Arts Month, spearheaded by the Office of Culture and Arts of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

This year’s event focuses on the positive meanings of change and transformation as student-artists immerse themselves in the nearby communities.

The Lasallian Arts Month opens with #KalyePaghunos on Feb. 7, from 1:00 to 2:20 p.m. The various participants will gather at three points along Pablo Ocampo (Vito Cruz) Street to showcase a preview of their singing, acting, and dancing prowess.

On Feb. 12 and 13, 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., at the School of Design and Arts Theater, SDA Campus, Teatro Filipino restages Paghunos, based on Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphosis. Riki Benedicto directs the different tales of the Ancient Greeks through comedy and tragedy.

On Feb. 15, 7 p.m., at the SDA Theater, student-artists from the Jaime Hilario Integrated School-La Salle in Bagac, Bataan, mentored by DLS-CSB’s artistic organizations, will showcase their talent in J, a production on personal tales of larger-than-life dreams and rising above their circumstances.

Finally, on Feb. 26 to March 2, The Greenway Square at the DLS-CSB Taft Campus transforms into BazaArt, where students will offer their select pieces and merchandise to the public.

Now on its 13th year, this annual festival is staged in collaboration with Benilde’s various cultural companies, namely, the Coro San Benildo, Dulaang Filipino, Karilyo Shadowplay Team, Saint Benilde Romançon Dance Company, the Cultural Promotions Team, and the State Production Operations Team.
