A school in Batangas recently bared its plan to build a public garden that commemorates the ASEAN community’s unity and cooperation.
The ASEAN Unity Park (AUP) will be located inside the future 40-hectare campus of FAITH Colleges (First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities) in Batangas Greenvale, Balete, Batangas near Lake Taal, one of the country’s premier northern destinations.
An initiative of FAITH Colleges, the park is the first project of the FAITH Botanic Gardens Foundation (FBGF) and forms part of the school’s commitment to spreading awareness about ASEAN.
The initial phase of the park will showcase trees and plant species common to the 10 ASEAN countries and indigenous artworks from the association’s member countries. Prominent landmarks from each ASEAN country will also have miniature replicas in the Country Section of the park. There will also be an ASEAN Hall that will serve as a venue for exhibits, symposia, and special events that will be organized in partnership with the embassies and other like-minded institutions.
The AUP launch was held at the Lima Park Hotel in Malvar, Batangas. It was graced by the officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Tourism, and embassies of ASEAN member countries in the Philippines.
