NHA Builders shock Responders, 83-77

ANOTHER shocker in the second round rocked the UNTV Cup Season 6 as the NHA Builders stamped their run-and-gun game on the PNP Responders at the Upper Deck Sports Center recently.

The dynamic duo of Anton Lustestica and Alvin Vitug provided the offensive firepower for the NHA Builders, who withstood the PNP Responders’ fight back in the payoff period with a 6-point windup to score an 83-77 win.

Vitug hit 25 points, while Lustestica scored 20 to pace NHA.

Chester Tolomia’s 24 points and 2 assists were not enough to carry the Judiciary Magis past the aggressive AFP Cavaliers as they fell, 62-74, in the UNTV Cup Season 6.

Julius Criste had his best game this conference for PNP with 11 markers, whereas Olan Omiping fired 15 points.

In the second game, the AFP Cavaliers continued their winning ways as they subdued erstwhile frontrunner Judiciary Magis, 74-62.

The trio of Boyet Bautista, Jeffrey Quiambao and Winston Sergio led the team’s early balanced attack, both offensively and defensively.

Chester Tolomia paced the Magis with 24 points, while fellow ex-pro Don Camaso contributed only five.

In the main game, it was a showcase of rising star Rene Boy Banzali, who  singlehandedly carried the GSIS Furies into a huge 89-81 victory over the PDEA Drug Busters.

Banzali tallied 31 points, one rebound and three assists as he exemplified his brilliant all-around game.

Rob Sanz paced PDEA with 25 pts.

UNTV Cup Season 6 will welcome 2018 with a slam-bang, second-round encounters, featuring the PDEA Drug busters against the PNP Responders and the AFP Cavaliers against the Malacanang PSC Kamao.
