Pia Wurtzbach’s choice

Actress and model Pia Wurtzbach has become one of the most visible faces on TV and on social media since she won Miss Universe in 2015. Her life took a 360-degree-turn and brought her game and the well-meaning cause that she champions on the world stage.

Beauty queen Pia Wurtzbach puts her fame and popularity to good use traveling the world to promote HIV/Aids awareness

The 28-year-old beauty queen is known for her advocacy that aims to educate people on HIV and AIDS. And just recently, she graced the inaugural Love Gala, a charity and awards event for HIV-AIDS awareness in the Philippines, which proceeds will go to HIV-AIDS non-profit organizations for their life-saving initiatives.

During the event, her first HIV 101 educational video that calls on more people to make HIV testing a part of their health and wellness routine was launched, too.

It is safe to say that Pia is putting her fame to good use as she has been active using her global popularity to shine a spotlight on the advocacy.

“I’m still learning about this advocacy. We are all students of HIV and Aids. I am not an expert but this is one of the ways where we can create awareness to combat the disease,” she said.

With her advocacy, she’s able to travel the world and spread awareness being UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and the Pacific. But just like everyone else who travels from one city to another, Pia also tries to enjoy each journey.

While based in the US during her reign, wearing the crown as Miss Universe allowed her to travel in places like Peru, Thailand, Indonesia, Canada, Ecuador, Thailand, Cayman Islands , Panama, Singapore and United Arab Emirates, to name a few. But which of these places is her favorite?

“I would have to say it’s New York because that’s where I stayed most of the time during my reign. I also had a great experience travelling to Lima, Peru. I love Bangkok and Tokyo. They are my personal favorite. And of course London because my family is there,” she told Manila Standard

For Christmas, Pia will be staying in Manila so she could also promote her comeback movie The Revengers Squad, which also stars Vice Ganda and Daniel Padilla. Then, she will fly to London to spend New Year with her family.

With her being a jetsetter, Pia is handpicked by Smart Communications to promote a groundbreaking app that lets users connect to their favorite travel services without data roaming charges.

Designed as a one-stop portal, RoamFree gives users free instant access to up to 21 partner apps at their destination, even if they haven’t subscribed to a roaming data package.
