Held at its corporate HQ and dealership in Pasig, Glen Dasig, the energetic President of Peugeot Ph presented to the media the all new 3008, the 2008 compact SUV and the all-new 5008 seven-seater SUV. “ We are excited to be unveiling these three new vehicles to the local motoring media for the first time. These three vehicles represent Peugeot’s bold move into the future,” exclaims Dasig.

Peugeot is set to carve a niche in the SUV industry with its new model line up unveiled recently by Peugeot Ph president Glen Dasig (second from left).

Peugeot’s new SUV range defies conventional standards with its euro-styling cues, dynamic performance and revolutionary engines. “We took inspiration from both the urban and rough terrain, and the new SUV variants  possesses a confident stance with the driver at the heart of the design. Everything about each vehicle aims to enhance the driver’s experience,” Dasig adds.

Admitting that the brand is a bit late in the SUV race, Dasig counters this by saying that Peugeot used the time to their advantage to come up with a  model range that truly reflects the company. In designing the SUV range, Peugeot’s engineers have made some unique choices in driving dynamics that result in a more engaging experience. “The new 2008, 3008 and 5008 are unconventional SUV’s. By having a low center of gravity and the proper ground clearance, Peugeot’s SUV’s have reduced body roll that is common in tradtional SUV’s. This means a more stable drive at any speed. The Efficient Modular Platform 2 set-up greatly reduces weight with improvement on the suspension layout and an Advanced Grip Control allows the driver to tackle any terrain.

Dasig is also quick to point out the revolutionary technology of its new generation engines. “The most impressive feature can be found under the hood,” he says. Peugeot’s engines have recently been hailed as the winner of this year’s International Engine of the Year in the one liter to 1400cc category.

The limited edition 3008 has a retail price of P2,590M, while the 2008 is priced at P1.490M and the 5008’s pricing will be announced soon. “The Lion is awake and the wait is definitely worth it!” beams Dasig. All three SUV’s are available in dealers nationwide.
