Ombudsman has dismissed from service Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
The case is in connection with the alleged misuse of the funds of the provincial government in 2013.

The amount involved is P 10 million.
The Ombudsman said the governor ordered the release of the budget even if it was not allowed by the provincial council.
The Ombudsman declared that Degamo is now disqualified from holding any public office.
His civil service eligibility has also been revoked.
The governor will also forfeit his retirement benefits.
