Glory Alonzo, the fastballer from Domingo Lacson National High School in Bacolod, struck out seven batters against South Australia, while Madaylene Dumaug and catcher Chastine Jover homered to lead the attack over India.

Jover sent a 2-1 pitch into deep left in the 2nd inning to send her teammates celebrating on the bench.

The girls will next play New South Wales Monday morning before taking on Virginia in the afternoon.

The team is composed mostly of the Philippine squad that won a silver medal in the World Little League series just months back.
