Tropical cyclone warning signal number one is up over Palawan.
This comes as a low pressure area develops into a tropical depression.
PAGASA has named the storm 'Tino.'
Tino's current location is 245 kilometers east southeast of Puerto Princesa City.
The storm packs maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
Tino is forecast to move west northwest at 28 kph.
It is expected to make landfall over Southern Palawan between 4 pm to 6 pm.
Some rains will pour over MIMAROPA, Bicol, Eastern Visayas, CARAGA and Panay Island.
Metro Manila will experience light to moderate rains.
The tropical depression will be out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Saturday morning.
