BALANGA CITY, Bataan—Vice Gov. Cris Garcia led the distribution of cash reward for top 30 scholars under the local government’s Iskolar ng Bataan program in each of the 12 towns of the province.
Each scholar recieved P5,000, with the top scholar per town receiving an additional P5,000.
The overall topnotcher, Jake Paras from Dinalupihan, received an additional P5,000 for a total cash prize of P15,000.
“Continue studying hard to achieve your dreams. The provincial government thorugh the leadership of Gov. Abet Garcia is here to help you,” Garcia said.
“The Iskolar ng Bataan program will continue to help Bataan students with their education,” the vice governor added.
Before becoming vice governor less than a year ago, Garcia was the original coordinator of the Iskolar ng Bataan. Butch Gunio
She held the position ever since the hatching of the scholarship program in 2005. She now serves as adviser of the program.
