Weather bureau PAGASA has raised tropical cyclone warning number 1 in 24 areas as of noon on Thursday.
This is due to tropical depression Salome.
The areas under signal number 1 are:

Camarines Sur
Catanduanes
Albay
Sorsogon
Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands
Romblon
Marinduque
Quezon
Laguna
Cavite
Batangas
Oriental Mindoro
Occidental Mindoro
Northern Samar
Eastern Samar
Samar
Leyte inluding Biliran
Tropical depression Salome has intensified as it crosses Ticao Pass.
It is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains beginning this afternoon until dawn on Friday.
Alabat, Quezon is expected to bear the brunt of Salome.
Downpours will occur in Metro Manila, the eastern section of Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, Bicol and Eastern Visayas.
Salome is currently located 50 kilometers south soutwest of Juban, Sorsogon.
It packs maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
Salome is forecast to move west northwest at 25 kph.
It is traversing Sibuyan sea in the area of Romblon, Mindoro and Marinduque.
