Colombia is experiencing heartfelt Filipino stories with ABS-CBN’s Dahil May Isang Ikaw, dubbed in Spanish and known as Corazones Cruzados. This marks the entry of the Kapamilya network to the Latin American country via the free-to-air TV network Caracol.
Starring Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa, the 2009 series is the first Filipino content to air in the said country and the second to air in the Latin American region, following the successful telecast of the Puentes De Amor (Bridges of Love), with Rosales and Paulo Avelino and Maja Salvador, in Peru.
“Our shows already reached so many territories and I realized how important it is to be part of these especially on a global scale. We actually touch not just the hearts of Filipinos but also these people all over the world through our soap operas. I am so honored to be part of all these,” said Rosales, now dubbed as the Asian Drama King as foreign audiences from Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America continue to patronizes series he stars in.
In 2010, Dahil May Isang Ikaw earned an International Emmy nomination for the best telenovela category.
The story revolves around lawyers Miguel Ramirez (Jericho) and Ella Alferos (Kristine), long lost childhood friends reunited with each other after many years only to find out that their respective adoptive parents shared a painful past. Also in the powerhouse cast were Lorna Tolentino, Gabby Concepcion, John Estrada, Karylle, and Sid Lucero.
ABS-CBN’s content is made available across other territories through ABS-CBN International Distribution. Since ABS-CBN ventured into the content distribution business in 2012, the company has been recognized in the global arena as a reliable foreign content provider and has been a premier source of high quality Filipino programming in over 50 territories worldwide.
ABS-CBN’s Pangako Sa’yo, starring Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa, remains to be the most distributed Filipino drama and the first to be adapted in a different country particularly in Cambodia. ABS-CBN is also first to penetrate the Latin American region with the airing of Bridges of Love in Peru’s leading TV station PanAmericana.
To date, ABS-CBN has sold over 30,000 hours of content worldwide. ABS-CBN continues to produce high-caliber programs and movies with cast and storylines that appeal to various cultures and wider viewers.
ABS-CBN, home to the Philippines’ top-rating TV programs, box-office films, and best-selling books and music, is rapidly transitioning into an agile digital company and continues to expand its services and businesses to address the different needs of Filipinos worldwide.
It continues to be in the service of the Filipino by harnessing the power of transformative content and world-class talent to Filipinos and global audiences using relevant entertainment platforms and technologies to help strengthen the Filipino family, promote self-advancement, contribute to nation-building, and bring cultural pride to Filipinos.
