PDEA creates first ICAD in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY—The Region 2 office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency has created the country’s first provincial chapter of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs or ICAD here.

Led by PDEA Regional Director LaurefeI Gabales, the Cagayan ICAD supports President Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order No. 15, creating both the committee and an Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force to suppress the drug problems in the country.

“We have to double our effort to curb the issue in the province of Cagayan, which is widely affected by the occurrence of illegal drugs in the region,” Gabales said.

The creation of Cagayan ICAD would fast-track programs related to the suppression of illegal drugs in the province, he added.

Provincial police director Senior Supt. Warren Gaspar Tolito said the Cagayan ICAD is an initiative to address the pressing drug issues through the collaborative efforts of its member agencies.
