TWO brothers, Jeron and Jeric Teng, will get to play together again.

They have been reunited and both will be part of the Chooks To Go Pilipinas squad, a club team which has  been awarded a wild card to take part in the 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup.

“Alam namin ang laro ng isa’t isa,” said the elder Jeric.

The last time, they played together was when he was on his playing year for Xavier School back in 2009.

Later, the elder Jeric would move to University of Santo Tomas, while the younger Jeron would join the La Salle Green Archers.

Joining the Teng brothers with the Manok ng Bayan squad are Jet Manuel Almond Vosotros, LA Revilla, Norbert Torres, Kiefer Ravena, Reymar Jose, Francis Tamsi and Carl Cruz.

Andre Paras and Gab Banal are on the reserve list.  They were put there just in case American reinforcement, Isaiah Austin, and big man Rodrigue Ebondo from Congo don’t get their visas in time.

The 7’1” Austin  last played for the Guangxi Rhinos of the Chinese National Basketball League, while Ebondo is a walk-in player who is student-athlete with Centro Escolar University.

National coach Chot Reyes said the squad they formed was built from scratch right after the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur.

“When we put this together, this was not part of any or any discussions with the PBA,” said Reyes, who discussed the formation of Team Manok ng Bayan with Samahang ng Basketbol ng Pilipinas executives led by vice president Robbie Puno and Chooks to Go top executive Ronald Mascarinas at the Discovery Suites in Ortigas.

Japan club SunRockers Shibuya was initially scheduled to participate.

But, they withdrew after the Japanese side failed  adjust their B. League schedule to fit the games

Chooks To Go Pilipinas  is with a 10-team line-up for Asia’s premier club competition that will take place in Chenzhou, China from September 22 to 30.

They are with defending champions China Kashgar, Al Riyadi of Lebanon, Petrochimi of Iran, Sarreyet Ramallah of Palestine, Dacin Tigers of Taipei, BC Astana  of Kazakhstan, Oil and  Natural Gas Corp. of India , Al Shabab Al Ahli of UAE and Mono Vampire BC of Thailand.
