Many notice that unlike before, Dennis Trillo is now more open and relax about his relationship with Jennylyn Mercado. In fact, they don’t evade questions about it anymore and are open about their plans, like travels.
“That’s right,” he says. “Jen and I wish to fly to another international destination after my work in Mulawin vs. Ravena wraps up soon. I guess, this is the result if you’re really happy, right? Everything’s light.”
Does this mean they’re more serious with what they share right now?
“To be honest, I don’t want to use the term ‘serious.’ I prefer happy more. Being too serious is different from being happy. Jen and I are more on the happy side. I guess that’s exactly what’s happening to both of us now.”
Fans are curious if this happy state would eventually lead to marriage.
“Well, I think it’s possible considering how smooth-sailing our relationship is at present. It’s not a remote thing to occur. I guess that’s the next thing you’ll consider when you’re in a happy relationship!”
So, they’re already talking about tying the knots in the coming days?
“Hmmm…bits and pieces,” Dennis reveals. “But there’s no concrete plan yet whatsoever. We just enjoy every single day being together especially when we’re on a grand vacation. For now, that’s what works best for us.”
The handsome actor also expressed his desire to work with his lady love once again in a television show.
“Oh yes! Our last soap opera together was My Faithful Husband in 2015 and that was two years ago already. I think it would be nice to work with her again soon. I hope another good and challenging vehicle comes along for us to collaborate on.”
Working with Jennylyn is always a welcome treat for Dennis.
“She’s a good actress. Everyone knows it. That’s the primary reason why it’s always a challenging and fulfilling experience sharing the screen with her,” he ends.

After being given tribute by the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) through its recently concluded Star Awards for Movies as Mga Ginintuang Bituin ng Pelikulang Pilipino, Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos expressed their openness to do a silver screen project once again after appearing in 1982’s T-Bird at Ako.
“I see no problem with that. It’s an exciting thought actually. If there’s a good material that’s fit for the two of us, I’m more than willing to do it,” says Guy.
“That’s true!” seconds Vilma. “Like T-Bird at Ako before. It was a nice material for us then. My prime concern is the script. It should be good. For one, we’re not getting any younger anymore. The story must complement our present stature now so that the viewers will patronize it!”
Their rivalry, the industry’s most enduring and long-standing, is kind of revived at this point especially since they also tied for the Star Awards’ most-coveted Best Actress plum (Aunor for Kabisera and Santos for Everything about Her). It can be remembered that the last time they tied for an acting trophy was in the 1990 Urian Awards. The Superstar was honored for her work in Bakit May Kahapon Pa? while the Star for all Seasons was cited for Pahiram ng Isang Umaga.
“For me, the rivalry is just okay. Over the years, it helped us to really hone our craft as thespians. Guy and I are friends, off-cam. Ever since, we’re okay. It’s only our fans who really fight,” avers Vi.
“I hope there will be no issue between our respective camps because we tied for Best Actress. There should be no issue in the first place. I’m grateful that the PMPC recognized our work. It’s a huge honor sharing the award with my ‘Kumare!” Guy states.
For their continued success, the two movie queens extend their gratitude to their supporters.
“We’ve been here for five decades already. We’re so touched that until now, they’re still here to show their support and love for us. It’s what keeps us going!” Nora and Vilma say in unison.
