On Sunday, Miss World Philippines 2017 beauty contest seemed to have been staged only to crown her as the next queen to represent the country on the international pageant stage. Beauty pageant fanatics have been rooting for her since day one of the competition. And the multi-hyphenate young lady didn’t disappoint her supporters as she even exceeded their expectations and showed everyone why she deserved the crown more than anyone else.

Hayden Kho and Vicki Belo

Some people say their wedding was extravagant. Some say it’s a fairy tale wedding, but for us, it was all about branding. One glaring fact about their wedding that cannot be refuted – it’s the most star-studded celebrity nuptial we’ve seen in years. And more than just tying the knot and sealing their relationship in a legal way, their wedding speaks volume of how the Belo, as a company, wanted to position itself as the leading brand when talking about beauty enhancement products and services.

JoshLia

The love team’s latest movie Love You to the Stars and Back is getting positive feedback. In fact, as of this writing, the movie has already earned more than P60 million. A conservative estimate says that the romantic film might breach the P100-million mark before it ends its second week at the box office. It’s actually good that we have the Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto tandem in the love team arena. JoshLia is definitely a welcome addition and a big threat to the more popular screen partners ruling showbiz right now.

Kim Chiu

The so-called Chinita Princess started promoting her latest single “Okay Na Ako,” on Tuesday. The song is part of her third album, which aims to replicate the success of her previous record that turned Gold and Platinum. It’s interesting to note that Kim, by any standard, won’t pass as a singer much more a recording star. And it’s the fault of record labels that give this singer wannabe a record deal only to terrorize our auditory nerves.

Daniel Padilla

Yes, folks, he won an acting award amid seasoned actors who deserved the recognition more than him. But people can’t blame Daniel. The award giving body that honored him was just after the publicity. Apparently, they still believe in the archaic concept of “even a bad publicity is still publicity.” So, they don’t care even if their credibility as an institution was at stake.

Jake Zyrus

During the promo for his upcoming concert, the trans man admitted that he’s trying to reconcile with his mother. Jake has severed his relationship with his mother Raquel after the first described the latter as an abusive parent on national TV. Observers believe that it shouldn’t be the case. Since he washed dirty linens in public, it would be logical and humbling if he apologized in public as well. Whether a mother was at fault or not, no one has the right to humiliate her in front of many.
