The rains that bring floodwaters aggravate the perennial congestion of vehicles along the city streets.

Motorists are experiencing slow moving traffic along P. Burgos Street in front of Manila City Hall.

The same situation is happening along many thoroughfares.

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) says, it has deployed about 500 personnel along flood-prone roads.

During the height of the heavy downpour on Thursday morning, eight gates of Manggahan River Floodway were opened.

Some residents in Malabon and Valenzuela experienced waist-deep floods.

Water level in Angat Dam rose by 58 centimeters.

Ipo dam's water level went up to 101.2 meters, beyond the watershed's spilling level of 101 meters.

PAGASA weather forecaster Chris Perez predicts, there may be rains throughout Thursday evening until dawn.

He says, the sun may shine on Friday morning but cloudy skies and rainy weather may prevail towards the afternoon.
