American volleybelle Laura Schaudt had made the Philippines her home for more than a month as she played as an import for Creamline squad in the inaugural conference Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.
Schaudt recently ended her tour of duty shortly after helping fellow import Kuttika Kaewpin of Thailand and local superstar Conference Most Valuable Player Alyssa Valdez and Cool Smashers to a two-game sweep of the Power Smashers in their best-of-three series for third place.
After her Philippine stint, Schaudt went to Latvia for a charity volleyball clinic for children. It was also her church's outreach program before going back home to the US.
If given the chance, Schaudt said she would love to come back to the Philippines. “If the team (Creamline) would get me again, I would love to come back and play here.”
When asked what has endeared the Philippines to her, “It’s the people. I really felt the warmth of acceptance by the fans and my teammates. You (Filipinos) are just amazing.”
For the meantime, she would enjoy her vacation in the US after her week-long volleyball clinic in Latvia.
