FILIPINO grandmaster Wesley So played to his fourth draw in the ongoing Altibox Norway Chess 2017 in Stavanger, Norway.
He now shares third place with two points in what is considered as one of the strongest tournaments in recent memory.
The 23-year-old So drew with Sergei Karjakin in 71 moves of a Guioco Piano last Saturday.
In previous games, So played world no. 1 Magnus Carlsen to a draw in 63 moves of another Guioco Piano games in round 1.
In the second round, So halved his point with Maxime Vachier-Lagrave in 43 moves of a King’s Indian Defense.
Then, Vladimir Kramnik split his point with So in 71 moves of another Guioco Piano encounter.
So far, GM Hikaru Nakamaru has taken the solo lead with three points.
He moved half a point ahead at the top spot after he edged Vachier-Lagrave in 33 moves of a Sicilian Najdorf.
He is ahead of Levon Aronian and Kramnik, who have 2.5 points in the second spot.
Aronian hung on to second position following his upset of Carlsen in 35 moves of the semi-slav variation of the Queen’s Gambit Declined.
Kramnik failed to catch up with Nakamura after his draw with Fabiano Caruana in 53 moves of a Ruy Lopez.
