The 86 year-old Credit Management Association of the Philippines has elected its board of directors and its officers for the year 2017 to 2018.
Elected president is Luis Arriola, who is also the president of St. Jude Media Organization Inc. which publishes the Asean Times internationally and 20/20 newspaper locally.
Arriola said he aims to work closely with similar organizations in the Asean Economic Community for regional cooperation and information exchange.
CMAP is a professional association composed of members who are all knowledgeable, competent and effective in the art of credit management and contribute to the financial stability of its member-companies and the national economy.
Other CMAP officers are Arnaldo Bacabac Jr., vice president; Theresa de Leon, corporate secretary; Ma. Cristina Maulion, assistant secretary; Rolinda Maneja, treasurer; and Efren Collado, director-in-charge of credit information system and technology.
CMAP membership includes banks, finance companies, cooperatives, credit card companies, lending institutions, service corporations, malls and other consumer-based organizations.
CMAP provides up-to-date credit information to members particularly on cases pertaining to sum of money collections, replevin, credit card and other problematic consumer account, etc.
It has been continuously providing education on credit investigation, fraud, appraisal and credit ratings and analysis. Further, it has worked hand in hand with government agencies concerned and other private organizations which are in finance and lending activities.
