The government sold P15 billion worth of Treasury bills during an auction Monday amid strong demand from investors.
Data showed that total tenders for the 91-day, 182-day and 364-day T-bills reached P36.6 billion.
“Average rates came in below secondary market levels across all tenors amidst healthy market demand,” the Treasury said in a statement.
The 91-day or three-month debt papers fetched an interest rate of 2.299 percent, slightly lower than 2.394 percent it drew in the last auction. The six-month debt instruments yielded 2.638 percent while the one-year papers fetched 2.989 percent.
The Treasury earlier raised P175 billion from the issuance of three-year retail treasury bonds including those generated from roadshows.
National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon said total bids for the RTBs reached P500 billion but the Treasury awarded only P105 billion.
