Bukidnon town declared a calamity area in quake’s aftermath

The town of Kalilangan, Bukidnon has been placed under a state of calamity.

This comes, following the magnitude-6 earthquake that hit the area on Wednesday last week.

Damage to properties and structures in the municipality reached P 57 million.

This is based on the estimate of local officials.

Damage to the Sangguniang Bayan building alone has been pegged at about P 30 million.

Almost a week after the tremor, many residents still live in tents outside their homes for fear of aftershocks.

The same earthquake also struck the municipality of Wao in Lanao del Sur.
