The Philippine National Police (PNP) has completed the unit at the PNP Headquarters that will run after police scalawags.
The PNP Counter-Intelligence Task Force (CITF) already has 100 members, many of them came from the PNP Special Action Force (SAF) and the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
PNP-CITF Spokesperson Joel Nicanor says, the new group will be based in Camp Crame and they will focus on getting rid of rogue cops in the National Capital Region.
PNP is also in the process of completing the CITF personnel for Luzon.
Ninety cops will form Luzon group.
Separate units will also be created to serve Visayas and Mindanao.
PNP-CITF is part of PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa’s program to subject the police organization to internal cleansing.
It was the death of Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo that prompted the creation of the task force.
The public may contact CITF through its hotline 0998-970-2286.
