Motorists along Marcos Highway in Marikina City are experiencing heavy traffic congestion.
This is due to an accident on Friday morning wherein a dump truck rammed into a post and scaffoldings of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) 2 where a construction is ongoing.
One dump truck personnel was killed in the mishap, while two others were wounded.
Witnesses say, the dump truck driver was racing with other drivers prior to the incident.
The traffic jam in the area reportedly stretches to about 8 kilometers, reaching Cogeo.
The dump truck has blocked the westbound lane of the road.
Only one of the 5 lanes along Marcos Highway is passable.
Motorists bound for Cubao, Quezon City from Antipolo City are advised to take other routes, like Sumulong Highway via Marikina.
