Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo has arrived at the Sandiganbayan to post bail on Friday.
The move comes, after the anti-graft court issued a warrant of arrest for him and other respondents over malversation and graft charges.
Degamo’s co-accused Provincial Treasurer Danilo Mendez and Provincial Accountant Teodorico Reyes also arrived at the anti-graft court for the same purpose.
Their cases are in connection with the alleged misuse of the P 480.7 million worth of Special Allotment and Release Order (SARO) that the governor requested in 2012 for infrastructure projects in his province.
The Sandiganbayan’s Special Third Division has set the bail for the governor at a total of P 2.23 million.
P 200,000 bail was set for each of the 11 counts of malvarsation and P 30,000 for one count of graft.
