Japanese Prime Minister Abe visits Duterte’s home

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has seen the home of President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City on Friday morning.

Abe was also shown the President’s bed complete with a folded mosquito net.

Duterte served Abe breakfast consisting of local delicacies like suman, biko, kutsinta and Duterte’s favorite munggo soup.

The Japanese head of state’s visit to Duterte’s house lasted for 45 minutes. 

He is the first head of state entertained by Duterte in his home.

Abe had requested to see how Duterte lives.

The Japanese leader had the chance to taste durian and suha fruits in Lanang, Davao City.

He and Duterte also attended a naming ceremony for a rescued Philippine eagle and watched a presentation by the Philippine Eagle Foundation. 

The bird was named "Sakura" in honor of the visiting prime minister.

Abe and Duterte also had a meeting with Davao businessmen at the Waterfront Hotel. 

At noon, the Prime Minister and his wife Akie flew back to Japan, ending their two-day official visit to the Philippines.
