President Rodrigo Duterte has signed the executive order that will fully implement the Reproductive Health (RH) Law.
National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Director-General Ernesto Pernia made this announcement in a press briefing in Malacañang.
Pernia said, “it took about three months for us to have this signed so we feel very delighted that it has finally been signed.”
The draft of the order was prepared by the Department of Health.
Pernia previously said, the order would show the President’s stand and how he feels about the RH Law.
He explained that in order for the administration to reduce the poverty incidence from the current 26% to 17% in 2022, or when the President finishes his term, there has to be a combination of strong economic growth and the full enforcement of a law that enables the poor to make informed choices on family-planning.
