Responders gun down Wolves; BOC still ahead

RESIDENTS of Biñan, Laguna witnessed an action-packed UNTV Cup Season 5 triple-header at the Alonte sports arena on Sunday, with the PNP Responders gunning down the MMDA Black Wolves’ offense and dominating the game from start to finish.

Ollan “The Sniper” Omiping led the Responders to the 13-point win, 86-47 as PNP raised its record to 7-2.

The Black Wolves dropped to the bottom spot, with 4 games won and 5 games lost.

In the second game, the NHA Builders bulldozed the AFP Cavaliers, 86–73.

After the long holiday, NHA’s preparations paid off.

“Pinaghandaan namin lahat ng teams, lalo na ‘yung dalawang susunod kasi kailangan naming dumiretso para makapasok sa apat,” said NHA Builders’ Head Coach Silverio “Benneth” Palad III.

The Builders were led by Marvin Mercado, who made 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Ariel Vitug, who buried 25 points and hauled 8 boards.

In the third game, with PBA Legend Kenneth “Captain Marbel” Duremdes and Gherome Ejercito leading the charge, the BOC Transformers remained on top after knocking down the Malacañang Kamao in a neck-and-neck battle, 71-70.
