Retired policeman Wally Sombero has arrived at the Ombudsman for his filing of graft charges against Bureau of Immigration (BI) Deputy Commissioners Al Argosino and Michael Robles.
This is in connection with allegations that the two immigration officials had extorted P 50-million from online gambling tycoon Jack Lam, in exchange for the freedom of his more than 1,000 undocumented workers who were earlier arrested.
Last week, Sombero had surfaced to deny allegations that he had served as the middleman between Lam and the BI officials to facilitate the alleged pay-off.
He had also sought the protective custody of the National Bureau of Investigation out of fear for his life.
