President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Philippine Army Chief Lieutenant General Eduardo Año as the new Armed Forces (AFP) Chief of Staff.
Duterte has signed the appointment paper.

Prior to this, Año has been heading the Army for a year and four months.
Año had also led the Army’s 10th Infantry Division in Mindanao.
He has been in the military for over 30 years.
He graduated from the Philippine Military Academy in 1983.
