Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana says, he has submitted to President Duterte the names of the contenders for the military’s top post.

He notes, most of the candidates are three-star generals of major service commands.

Some of the persons in Lorenzana’s list include AFP Vice Chief of Staff Glorioso Miranda, Deputy Chief of Staff Salvador Mison Jr., Army Chief Eduardo Año and Army Lieutenant General Rey Leonardo Guerrero.

The list is based on the recommendation of the Board of Generals.

The board earlier sent to the DND the names of eleven generals.

The retirement and change of command ceremony is set on Wednesday, December 7, 2016.

On December 8, 2016, Visaya will reach the mandatory retirement age of 56.

He served as CS for a little over 5 months.
