The Embassy of the Argentine Republic in the Philippines, in collaboration with the City of Davao, is pleased to present a collection of religious art paintings with the theme: “Nativity Scenes and Symbols” by Brother Edgardo Hugo Campos, an Argentinean visual artist and a member of the congregation of Brothers of the Holy Family in Davao City.
This exhibit will run from December 2 to 15 at the Yuchengco Museum, 2nd Floor, RCBC Plaza, Ayala Avenue corner Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati City. Admission is free of charge and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Bro. Campos lives and creates his art in Davao City and has been doing remarkable religious illustrations in the different chapels and churches in the area. His main advocacy is painting and sacred art.
Special distinction is given to the icons and painted scenes with deep reference to the Gospel and to the Word of God instead of traditional and modern devotions.
In many of its expression and motif, one can link to Romanesque and Byzantine arts where the catechetical message and spiritual insight has preeminence over the realism and dramatism of the religious scene.
