The group Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) is set to give the reward money of P 1 million to the person who provided information that led to the arrest of Senator Leila De Lima’s former security aide Ronnie Dayan.
VACC Board Member Arsenio ‘Boy’ Evangelista showed the cash in a press briefing on Thursday morning.
VACC lawyer Ferdinand Topacio said the informant is a 54-year-old man from La Union.
He added VACC was able to come up with the reward money with the help of seven businessmen.
Dayan was nabbed last Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Sitio Turod, Barangay San Felipe, San Juan, La Union by operatives of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-La Union and the provincial police from La Union and Pangasinan.
He had been hiding for two months after the House of Representatives sent him a subpoena that ordered him to appear before the hearing of the House Committee on Justice.
The committee is conducting an inquiry into the proliferation of illegal drug trade in New Bilibid Prison.
