Ronnie Dayan will be released from the custody of the House of Representatives after the inquiry of the House Committee on Justice on Thursday is through.
“He is a free man after the hearing,” Oriental Mindoro Representative and Committee Chairman Reynaldo Umali said.
He explained Dayan’s arrest warrant was simply based on a subpoena which he ignored.
“We will just ask him why he defied the subpoena of Congress,” Umali said prior to the hearing.
He further noted, the Committee Report on the inquiry into the proliferation of illegal drug trade in New Bilibid Prison had been completed and approved.
Umali added, Dayan’s testimony is just meant to “tie up some loose ends.”
During the hearing, Dayan claimed it was upon the advice of De Lima that he went into hiding.
