Duterte may cancel trip to Brunei after Davao City blast

DAVAO CITY — President Rodrigo Duterte may not push through with his trip to Brunei following an explosion at the city's night market that left at least 12 dead.

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said the President is also still assessing whether to push through or not with his trip to Laos and Indonesia.

"We just don't know at the moment if this is limited to Brunei or if it will include Laos and Indonesia," he added.

The President is scheduled to go on a three-country swing this week, his first foreign trip since he took office on June 30.

Duterte is scheduled to go to Brunei on official visit before proceeding to Laos for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit. His last stop will be in Jakarta.
