President Rodrigo Duterte made an aerial survey of areas affected by the southwest monsoon.
At noon on Monday, he boarded the presidential chopper that flew over Marikina City, La Mesa Dam in Quezon City and Laguna Lake.
The President made the trip after getting an update from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on the disaster resulting from days of monsoon rains in several areas.
Present during the briefing held in Malacañang were Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea and MMDA Chairman Emerson Carlos.
Duterte instructed Taguiwalo to make sure the country has enough supply of rice and relief goods.
This comes, amid PAGASA’s forecast that the effects of the southwest monsoon will last until Friday.
