Mike Arroyo asks leave for travel

FORMER First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo on Tuesday asked the Sandiganbayan that he may be allowed to travel to Europe and Hong Kong on specific dates on September up to November but did not cite any reason for the travel.

Arroyo, who was represented by his lawyer, filed a motion before the anti-graft court’s seventh division, Arroyo asking permissoon from the court for his travel from Sept. 11 to Oct. 2, and in Hong Kong from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4.

The court sets on August 12 Arroyo’s motion to travel abroad.

Arroyo’s motion stated that the former first gentleman will be going to two European countries where he will stay at the Holiday Inn Munich City Centre from Sept. 11 to 29 and the Holiday Inn Paris Montmarte 23 from Sept. 29 to Oct. 2.

For his Hong Kong trip, Arroyo will be staying at The Salisbury in Kowloon, a known shopping and entertainment arcade.

Even if he did not cite his reasons for his two trips abroad, Arroyo stressed he will return to the Philippines to face the cases levelled against him.
